该剧主要围绕进京、和谈、渡江、经济建设、筹备政协、召开政协等多个事件，讲述了1949年北平和平解放后，毛主席带领中共中央从西柏坡入驻香山“进京赶考”，解放全中国、筹建新中国、搭建起新中国四梁八柱的故事。
In March 1949, the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was headquartered at Fragrant Hills in Beijing. From where Mao Zedong directed the War of Liberation, layed out economic policies and made preparation for the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the founding ceremony of a new China.
