Bird, Man, Water is a short, experimental film, which explores the captivating world of cormorant fishing in China through the perspectives of a cormorant, fisherman, and river. While the film’s three-act structure depicts three disparate points of view, it highlights the intricate web of interconnectivity in which these seemingly different, yet equal beings are enmeshed. By portraying the disappearing tradition of cormorant fishing through animation and found footage, the film offers a unique opportunity to ponder the complex interdependence between beasts, mankind, and Mother Nature.
