Beyond the Tides showcases the affection between Xiamen and Taiwan and the ever growing friendship. The film takes you to a journey around the city of Xiamen and explores it through an eye of Taiwanese people happily working and studying in the city. The Taiwanese living in Xiamen shares their happy experiences the city but also miss many things about their homeland. Xiamen is geographically extremely close to Taiwan. The film brings out how Individuals and family constitute nations and that too beyond sea and tides.
