CAFF aims to promote exchanges between Chinese and American filmmakers to enhance collaboration between Chinese and U.S. movie industry and uses movies as a platform to promote the friendship between the two countries and cultural exchanges between the people.

In support of China’s State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Motion Picture Association and the Chinese Embassy, the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles, the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco, through ten years of effort and development, CAFF has become a highly anticipated annual film festival within China-US film industry.

Each year in November, CAFF receives many outstanding films from China and U.S. Participating exhibitors from both countries include mainstream film studios, renowned filmmakers, directors, and other celebrities gather in Los Angeles to support and cheer for each other’s hard work and friendship, further elevating the friendly relationship between China and U.S. movie industry.

CAFF is the only China-US cultural film activity included in the annual report of U.S. Congress in formal writing, becoming a part of the U.S. Congress history. CAFF was also officially selected in July 2014 as No. 55 out of 104 projects of China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue and China-US High Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange in 2014. We are more proud than ever as we celebrate the 11th anniversary of Chinese American Film Festival this year.
